Verses at Nightfall: Poetry Reading & Conversation with Joie de Vivre
In celebration of April as National Poetry Month, we are pleased to present "Verses at Nightfall," an evening of poetry and conversation with Joie de Vivre.
This event will feature the original poetry of Danny Fitzpatrick, Caitlin Smith Gilson, and Justin Lacour, and we welcome others to read and share their poetry as well.
Doors will open at 6:00pm, with prayer and introductory remarks at 6:30pm. The evening will conclude at 8:00pm.

Lenten Mission Chamber Concert @ Immaculate Conception (Denham Springs)
All are invited to attend the St. Louis IX Art Society's Lenten Mission Chamber Concert hosted by Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on the evening of Monday, March 18th, 2024, from 7:00-8:30pm at Immaculate Conception in Denham Springs.
Join us for an evening of sacred music, liturgical preaching, and Eucharistic adoration as we prepare for the joy of Christmas. A local Catholic priest will serve as the mission preacher and James Rosenbloom as the curator and director of the chamber concert.

"Pondering Beauty in Sacred Places," Lenten Mission @ St. Luke the Evangelist (Slidell)
Join the St. Louis IX Art Society (SL9) and St. Luke the Evangelist (Slidell) for a 4-night Lenten mission focused on encountering Christ in the sacred.
The schedule for the mission will be as follows:
Wednesday, March 13th - SL9 President Jordan Haddad, Ph.D., on Sacred Beauty
Thursday, March 14th - SL9 Artist Jaclyn Warren on Sacred Art
Wednesday, March 20th - SL9 Sacred Composer James Rosenbloom on Sacred Music
Thursday, March 21st - SL9 Sacred Architect Nathaniel Frank, AIA, NCARB on Sacred Architecture
Each evening will include inspiring preaching and teaching, sacred music, and Eucharistic adoration.
This event is free and open to the public, so we hope you'll join us as we prepare for our minds and hearts for Holy Week and the singular divine-historical event that changes everything: the Resurrection of Christ at Easter.

"Christ and the Question of Transcendental Beauty" by Caitlin Smith Gilson, Ph.D.
All are invited to attend the St. Louis IX Art Society's 3rd annual Catholic Art Lecture, co-hosted by Notre Dame Seminary, on the evening of Thursday, February 15th, 2024, in Schulte Auditorium at Notre Dame Seminary.
Caitlin Smith Gilson, Ph.D., a SL9 Literary Artist and Professor of Philosophy at the University of Holy Cross (New Orleans), will offer a lecture entitled "Christ and the Question of Transcendental Beauty."
We hope you will join us for a thought-provoking evening as we explore the nature of beauty in light of Christian revelation with the help of some of the Church's greatest philosophers, theologians, and poets.
